About Lisa A. Boushard

Where I currently reside; St Louis MO

I've been married for 3 years to Joe Boushard

What I do for a living; Operations Manager of Powerhouse Gym of St Louis

What got me involved in the sport of bodybuilding?
A close friend of mine Debbie Elking competed in a bodybuilding show in 1999 and I went to watch and was very impressed. She told me that she thought I would do really well at competing so in 2001 I did my first show Caveman Classic and placed last in every class but then competed at the Show Me Naturals 2 weeks later and won the masters, lightweight class and the overall. Well, I was hooked and have been competing since!!

What I enjoy about being a bodybuilder:
I enjoy watching my body build and improve every year. I set goals for myself and work very hard to achieve them. To me it is more a competition with yourself to go in each show better and better each time. When I started competing in 2001 I was a lightweight at 107 lbs and now I compete at 140lb!! I hope to be a heavyweight next year and then I would have competed in every weight class division offered. What an accomplishment!!!

Who is the most interesting or inspirational person I've met:
IFBB Bodybuilding Pro Colette Nelson, she is by far the most inspirational person I know!! She is a very special person with many talents/professions but the best one of all is who she is in her heart. She cares about people and seeing everyone succeed and helping them find the best in themselves. Colette will go the extra mile for everyone and she will sacrifice her time and anything she can to help others. Colette has many hats and I admire how she has been successful in all of them.

How do my friends, family and the general public react to my physique?
For the most part it is positive feedback. A lot of people like the muscle tone and strength of a female bodybuilder. And sometimes when my body is lean and conditioned I get looks of approval from men but some women snarl and that is just their lack of self confidence and ability to diet and train to look their best. I don't let them bother me cause I know I look great and I worked hard for my accomplishments.

My long-term goal in the sport of bodybuilding: I would love to win my pro card someday

What is my workout schedule like?
My husband and I are currently following the dc training style and working out in a 2 day workout program so we train about 3 days a week. In the off season I will do cardio 3 days a week for 30 minutes and contest time it is increased to a couple hours a day.

Sub question: Favorite or best lifts?
Squat 315lbs for 6 reps, 190lbs on incline press and 1000 lbs leg press for reps

What do I consider my best feature? By far my back is my best feature!!!

What has been my greatest personal moment in bodybuilding?
I won the 2005 Kim Chivesky 4 time Ms. Olympia “Extreme Conditioning” award at the Missouri State Bodybuilding show where I also won the masters, middle weight class and the Overall.
